Depth-oriented trauma therapy for queer and trans folks, high-masking neurodivergent adults, people in kink and non-monogamous communities, and anyone carrying a burden of shame. Telehealth from anywhere in Washington state.
Private care for complex lives.
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a trans man, and I'm part of the communities I work with. Instead of educating me and defining terms, you can start with what's bothering you.
Specialty areas
Kink and non-monogamy. Beyond just being ‘affirming,’ I’m knowledgeable about the culture and particular struggles in alternative relationship style communities. I’ve deeply explored the ways we use sexuality to love ourselves and our partners, regulate and relate to our bodies, and occasionally to heal. You don’t have to justify your particular practice of kink or CNM, whatever the flavor.

Neurodivergent and unmasking. The ambient pain of growing up with ADHD, autism, or AuDHD can cause us to cut off and suppress parts of ourselves, and present a socially acceptable ‘mask’ instead. I help people discover the authenticity which the world told them was “too much." I have particular experience in working with late-diagnosed adults who are trying to figure out how to honor their truest selves while living in systems that are not always designed for their neurotype.

Gender diversity and queer issues. I’m a trans man, and I’ve worked with folks across the gender and sexuality spectrums for most of my career. My lived experience as a trans therapist might make it easier to open up, but I won’t assume that my journey is the same as yours—I also continually educate myself about queer issues, and I’m eager to understand what makes your experience unique.
Parts work. My broad framework views each of us as a collection of different parts, each with their own opinions, needs, and skills. This approach to easing inner conflict allows space for your complexity, and can make EMDR more accessible for those with CPTSD or other presentations of complex trauma.
Trauma reprocessing in EMDR. Often called the ‘gold standard’ treatment for PTSD because of its robust efficacy research. In EMDR, we use eye movements to piece together fragmented trauma content which may intrude on daily life. I was trained in this method by an EMDRIA-accredited trainer.
Privacy
Sexual and gender identities are increasingly political issues in today’s climate, and many of us are concerned about our privacy. I think very carefully about documentation, with respect to my clients’ personal risk tolerance. My commitment to privacy is also one reason I operate out of network (OON) with insurance panels.
Even in a private pay model, you may still get money reimbursed from your insurance if you have OON benefits.

It depends on what we're working on. Some focused EMDR work resolves in months; some work runs longer. We'll review your goals and timeline collaboratively. Because of my OON structure, we have the flexibility to meet until you’re ready to stop, and session limits aren’t dictated by insurance.
-
No, I’m not a prescriber. I'm glad to coordinate with your prescriber if you have one, with your written consent.
-
Not currently, but I’m investigating continuing education that might allow this in the future. If you’re interested in couples (or more) counseling, feel free to reach out, and I may be able to refer you to a specialist.
-
My practice isn't structured for crisis support between sessions. If you're in immediate danger, call or text 988. If you anticipate needing frequent between-session support, a higher-acuity practice will serve you better — I'm happy to help you find one.
-
No, but you may be reimbursed by insurance if you have OON coverage. Check your coverage on the Fees & Accessibility page of this site.
-
Not generally, but if you’re under 18 or are seeking care for a young person in your life, feel free to schedule a 15-minute consult. If I’m not a good fit, I may be able to refer you to someone who is.
-
Absolutely. If you’re drawn to my listings, we’re probably a good fit.
